Malia Tallett
PT, DPT, TPS

Dr. Malia Tallett, PT, DPT, TPS, founded Ke Ola Kino Physical Therapy in August 2017. She graduated from The University of the Pacific, in Stockton, CA, with a Bachelor’s in Sports Sciences (2005) and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (2007). She started her career at a Trauma 1 hospital in Oakland, CA, working across a wide range of physical therapy disciplines. She moved home to Hilo, HI, in 2010 and worked at several facilities, which enriched her understanding of Hilo’s community needs. Over the last 15 years, Dr. Malia Tallett, PT, DPT, TPS, has been dedicated to developing her practice to provide evidence-informed treatment interventions for our Big Island Community. She brings years of experience as a D1 competitive athlete, international athlete, and many outdoor enthusiast endeavors. She has a soft spot for youth athletic development, tactical athletes, and most importantly, Hilo’s growing kupuna population.
She has been adjusting her focus to help develop quality physical therapists for Hilo’s future providers through Hawaiʻi Pacific University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program as an adjunct faculty member. Dr. Malia Tallett, PT, DPT, TPS, continues to craft new horizons for Hilo’s athletic community. In addition, she works diligently to bring cutting-edge evidence-informed clinicians to Hilo for our Native Hawaiian Community and all of Hilo’s communities.
Ryan Valenciano
PT, DPT, OCS
Dr. Ryan Valenciano, PT, DPT, OCS, graduated from Regis University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2021 and a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Pacific University. Over the past 5 years, Ryan has been actively practicing as a physical therapist with experience in acute care, orthopedics, pediatrics, neurology, rural medicine, and home care. Ryan exemplifies lifelong learning, having recently completed his Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency at Regis University. Since 2025, Ryan has been an adjunct faculty member in Hawaii Pacific University’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy program.
Having been born and raised on the island of Kauai, Ryan is passionate about integrating local culture into lifelong health goals. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys tending to his organic garden, exploring local restaurants, and savoring the produce at farmers’ markets. On the weekends, you can find Ryan exploring the Big Island from mauka to makai with his blossoming young household.
Wailana Ahuna
Administrative Assistant

Wailana Ahuna, born and raised here on Hawaiʻi Island, is a Certified Professional Coder with over 15 years of experience in healthcare administrative operations. She brings a strong background in patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and revenue cycle support, with a proven ability to manage sensitive patient information accurately and confidentially. Known for her professionalism, attention to detail, and process-driven approach, Wailana serves as a reliable first point of contact, ensuring efficient front-office workflows while supporting clinical and billing teams to deliver high-quality care. Wailana Ahuna is an experienced Front Desk Administrator and Certified Professional Coder with over 15 years of experience in healthcare administrative operations.
